Alright, it’s been a while since I wrote anything – I guess life gets in the way – but recently, Playstation 4 and XBOX One launched. Did you buy a PS4 or XBOX one? If not… don’t waste your money. Or your time.
So, I had a conversation the other day with a friend of mine who I knew was going to buy a PS4 or XBOX One on launch day… and he did, spending 650 bucks to get a system with a game or two. Then he asked me if I was going to be buying it.
Hell no, I don’t have time for video games, and neither should you buddy. You know, the guy who still lives with his parents, with a dead end job he hates, and no girlfriend? But, he can afford to spend his time not learning new skills, not travelling, or meeting new people, instead pretending to be someone digital doing something he could be doing in real life?
What’s wrong with that picture… someone buying a digital life they only dream of living. In reality, 99% of video games are just realities of life that’s already being lived by people out there doing them.
What can you do with $650? Buy a plane ticket to somewhere you’ve never been. Pay for an online course to make you a better person. Invest into a supplement line and make more money. Buy a junker and get outta dodge.
Want to race Ferraris? Become a Black Ops secret agent? Kill coke dealers in the jungle? Hit home runs in the majors? All those opportunities are real, if you get out there and look for them. Become hungry for something real. Don’t give up and give in to a digital world. Don’t settle for fake. Make it happen today.
You won’t catch me buying a PS4 or XBOX One. Do you know why? I have too much REAL LIFE to live. So, if you really want to, spend your time in front of your TV set playing with imaginary friends you connected with through your little digital worlds. Me, I’m going to go and buy my own Ferrari, chase girls on sandy beaches, catch terrorists and find hidden gems around the world.
Because that’s the kind of real life I want to have.
I started reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. If you’re looking to make changes in your life, start with what’s in this book. Then watch your life change before your eyes.
